The street cat chooses people to entrust newborn kittens to and gives birth to them in the backyard

Even before the cat was born, it sought out familiar people and, when the time came, asked for help.

Residents of one of the areas of Southern California have seen this stray cat several times. In search of food, she pinned down a family’s yard and started coming there. The owners of the house regularly provided food in bowls and did everything they could to help the cat.

One weekend last month, when the cat returned, it was clear she had just given birth. “She went to people who needed help right after she was born,” says Jan Marder, a volunteer nanny at Wrenn Rescues.

After determining the location of the kittens in their yard, the home’s owners found that two of them were in poor condition. “These wonderful people cleaned up the mother and her kittens and took a heating pad out of the house to help with the crumbs.”

Jen saw a post describing this situation on social media and didn’t step aside. “I picked them up the next day when the kittens were 24 hours old,” says Jen.

“When they arrived the kittens were very small. Her mother immediately acted friendly and purred sweetly. She is an absolutely adorable doll.”

The tabby cat, named Queen Bee, was about a year old – too young to be a mother. Already grateful to be welcomed into the home, she purred loudly as she settled into the comfy new bed with her children.

From the beginning the queen was very attentive to the little “bees”, fed them extensively and licked them clean.

Unfortunately, despite all her efforts, the weakest girl of the brood did not survive, but she was surrounded by love and warmth all her short life.

Over time, the kittens opened their eyes, became more active and curious, eager to explore and study their surroundings. Queen Bee kept a watchful eye on all of this.

She responds to their piercing screeches and chirps, making them feel loved every minute.

“Mom is great with kids. She gulps food awfully fast just to refresh herself and then runs off to feed her babies again,” says Jen.

“The kids grew up a little and she started leaving the nest to greet me. She likes to wrap herself around my legs and rub against me. She is a wonderful girl who will make anyone who adopts her very happy.

The kittens (named Bumblebee, Busy Bee and Business Bee) are three weeks old and weigh 450g – another milestone passed.

They grow before our eyes and are content with their position as pets. Soon they will start climbing out of the nest and exercising their little legs.

The former stray cat keeps purring because she knows her kids are safe. She stomps happily on the soft sheets while her little bees doze off and start drinking milk again.

“Queen Bee is a good mother. She is so attentive, never goes far from the children. He constantly hugs her and covers her with his paws. It touches me every time,” says Jen.

After wandering the streets for most of her life, Queen Bee can finally breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the homey conditions she should have always lived in.
