A prophetic verse was written in 1944 by a "doctor with a notebook." To whom are the lines from the famous song by Alla Pugacheva dedicated
The romance “Do not renounce, loving …” Alla Pugacheva herself considers her one of the best in her repertoire. Once the singer said that for these poems “you can give the Nobel Prize.”
The poem was written by a neurosurgical hospital doctor thirty years before anyone in the USSR knew about it.
This doctor, the “doctor with a notebook”, as her patients called her, was the Russian poet Veronika Tuschnova.
“Veronica has a burning Southern beauty, Asian (Persian rather than Tatar)” – Lev Anninsky, literary critic.
“Veronika Tushnova sat down at my table. She smelled seductively of good perfume, and like a revived Galatea, she lowered her sculpted eyelids … ”- Olga Ivinskaya, translator.
The professor’s daughter, a graduate of one of the best schools in the city (named after AN Radishchev), the bright and “oriental beauty” Veronika Tushnova dreamed of becoming a great poet and even entered the Literary Institute. AM Gorky but she couldn’t finish it.
The war has started.
In wartime, Veronika Tushnova worked as a ward doctor, fighting with all her might for the life of each wounded, and in her free hours wrote poetry. Then they started calling her “Doctor with a Notebook.”

In 1944, a woman went through a difficult period in her life – she broke up with her first husband, Yuri Rozinsky. He was a psychiatrist, went to the front and after the war did not return to his family, he went to another woman.

It was at this moment that Veronika Tushnova wrote her famous poem, which Alla Pugacheva performed in 1976 to the music of Mark Minkov. Only the poet herself has never heard this song. The romance sounded only ten years after her death.

It is known that the poet’s ex-husband “came all of a sudden” years later. When he was seriously ill, he turned to her for help. The woman responded and nursed him until his death.
That is why researchers of Tushnova’s work call this poem prophetic.
In general, Veronika Tushnova herself has a difficult fate: several difficult love stories, problems in realizing her talent during her lifetime, a serious illness. The poet was diagnosed with oncology from which she never recovered. She was 54 years old.
